About the role

As a Medior DevOps / Platform Engineer at Conexxia, you help organizations accelerate, secure, and improve the reliability of their software delivery. You act as the link between development, operations, and security, building scalable platform services, automated deployments, observability solutions, and secure cloud environments.

You work on projects where you truly make an impact: optimizing end‑to‑end delivery chains, automating infrastructure, implementing modern engineering principles, and helping teams mature in DevOps, Cloud, and Platform Engineering.

You are given a high degree of autonomy and guide clients in establishing sustainable engineering foundations.

What you'll do

​Your responsibilities combine platform engineering, automation, cloud engineering, security‑by‑default, and process optimization.
 

Platform & Cloud Engineering

• You design, build, and manage cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) that allow teams to develop securely and efficiently.

• You develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code solutions (Terraform/Bicep) for repeatable and compliant provisioning.

• You automate deployments through modern pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins).

• You implement containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS).

• You build robust CI/CD pipelines including caching, automated testing, static code analysis, and quality gates.

• You implement automated governance controls (Policy‑as‑Code, OPA, Azure Policy).

• You improve DORA metrics and accelerate secure delivery in collaboration with development teams.

• You ensure quality by embedding testing, quality checks, and release standards within CI/CD processes.

Security & Compliance

• You implement DevSecOps principles such as secrets management, image scanning (Trivy), SAST/DAST, and dependency scanning.

• You safeguard security and compliance standards (ISO‑27001, NEN7510, CIS Benchmarks).

• You support teams in secure software development and cloud security best practices.

Observability & Reliability

• You set up logging, metrics, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, Azure Monitor, OpenTelemetry).

• You help teams define SLOs, error budgets, and reliability practices.

• You perform root cause analyses, introduce chaos engineering where appropriate, and improve incident processes.

Collaboration & Advisory

• You work closely with product teams, architects, and security specialists.

• You advise clients on platform strategy, cloud governance, and modern engineering practices.

• You actively contribute to the engineering community within Conexxia.

What you bring

You have a strong technical foundation, take ownership, and enjoy building things that truly work. You are eager to learn and motivated to grow into a Senior or Lead role.

​

Furthermore:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s working and thinking level (IT, engineering, or similar).

• 3–8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, or SRE.

• Fluent in Dutch; English is a plus.

• Strong analytical skills, structured working style, and high attention to quality.

• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to engineers and business stakeholders.

• A sense of ownership over the platforms you build.

• Enjoy sharing knowledge and helping teams improve.

Knowledge/Experience with:

• Cloud: Azure (preferred), AWS welcome.

• IaC: Terraform, Bicep, ARM, CloudFormation.

• CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins.

• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AKS/EKS.

• Security: scanning, secrets management, identity & access, secure defaults.

• Scripting: Bash, PowerShell, and/or Python.

• Monitoring/Logging: Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana/Elastic, Azure Monitor.

• Version control: Git & branching strategies.

 

What we offer

• Salary range: €4,200–€5,400 gross per month (depending on experience and assignment complexity), based on a 40‑hour contract, including 10% pension contribution.

• Bonus scheme based on company and team results.

• Monthly expense allowance of €200.

• Mobility budget of at least €800 per month (role‑dependent).
